According to a report from WABetainfo, this forthcoming update will provide users with greater control over their chat interfaces by enabling them to select and configure chat bubble colors and wallpapers as well.
This feature was initially noticed in beta versions for iOS (24.11.10.70) and Android (2.24.17.19). It is expected to offer no less than 10 different chat themes to choose from. While WhatsApp has allowed changes to the background of chats for a long time now, the colors of text bubbles have remained fixed. With the latest release, the wallpaper and chat bubble colors will adjust according to the selected theme, resulting in a more cohesive visual experience.
Furthermore, aside from default themes, users will be able to manually adjust individual chat colors, thus enhancing the personalized messaging experience even further. The functionality is still under development and an official preview has not yet been made available, but its ultimate goal appears to be expanding visual personalization options on WhatsApp.
By incorporating features familiar from other Meta platforms like Instagram and Messenger, this upgrade aims to refine the user experience on WhatsApp and create a more vivid, customized chat environment tailored to each individual user’s preferences.
